As we visit Art Museums and study works of art and the history
surrounding them, our lives are enriched with new levels of
appreciation. How did the artists do it? is usually our first response. What could have motivated
them and what influenced them? Art has been said to be
a noble expression of the human spirit, and it is most certainly
a way to communicate with each other and with future generations. We are able to make a connection
with both the artist and his work when we advance our knowledge
and we understand the concerns and values of the times.

Visits to historical monuments, buildings, cities and museums can evoke emotions we were never aware of...
Our
awareness is further enhanced as we study art in its historical
and stylistic context. We are awed by the aspirations
and workmanship as we view an Artist’s creations and
contemplate the work from conception. It is a wonderful
experience when we further understand the language of visual
images and the emotions they evoke. Visiting museums
can provide a needed balance in our lives that are so dominated
by our technical society.

Still life, Floral or the Decorative Arts can inspire our creativity...
For an artist, a visit to a museum can be almost spiritual. A way to awaken our artistic sensibilities and to reflect on our own artistic journey. Sometimes the artist will travel a path without direction or awareness. A museum visit, can point the artist in a new direction. Not everyone is able to travel great distances, the world of the internet affords us a chance to see great art right in our own homes. The Art Apprentice Online has gathered links to some of these great museums, we hope you will enjoy visiting them as often as we do.
Folk Art and Decorative Art museums give us a greater appreciation for the cultural and traditional roots of artistic expression...
