E- packets and how they work - After ordering your packet/s and completing the transaction, you will be taken directly to the download page. As well you will receive an email confirmation of your purchase. You will have ample time to download and save your packet for printing at a another time. The Art Apprentice Online is also notified when you download your pattern, this way if you encounter any problems we can be there to assist you.
Printing E-packets...
Purchase a good quality premium or Bright White paper for the brand of printer you have. e.g. HP- HP Premium paper, Canon - Canon Paper. Matching the paper to your printer brand usually produces better results. It doesn't have to be photo paper. Make sure you have enough ink in your cartridge before you start. Learn how to print only the pages you want. Don't just automatically hit print. Take a moment to look through each page on a print preview and decide if you need them all, then make your selection.
Printed pages are not usually waterproof so a little extra care is required here also. Use plastic sheet protectors. If your monitor is in your studio you may not need to print it out at all. Copyright applies to epackets as much as printed works, so please respect the artist and don't be tempted to share your epacket.

Design name: Flair of Chippendale - This E- packet is an acrylic application.
This lesson is based on the Chippendale style painting technique. The lesson teaches the artist how to work with a white underpainting on a dark ground. The artist learns to control intensities and values for dimension through the use of layering such as glazing and veiling. The lesson also teaches the student to appreciate the benefits of optical mixing through the use of transparent applications. This design is painted on a large Chippendale styled metal tray, however the design could be adapted for a beautiful tabletop, trunk or for custom furniture.
Heritage Artist Gaby Hunter teaches how to use an opaque pigment in a semi-transparent manner. The goal of that exercise is to actually build values and form through transparency, facilitate the passage of light through transparent colored layers and to create the luminous depth that the Chippendale style is known for.

At one time or another most of us have found ourselves contemplating the simple things in life and wishing for more time to enjoy them and all the fun things we like to do. During an exceptionally busy and hectic time this little log cabin was inspired by those very feelings and a longing for some of that elusive rest and relaxation time that we are all in need of. The favorite pass times of fishing, hunting, canoeing, roasting hot dogs, and snow shoeing are all represented on the sides of this log cabin retreat and I’m certain all the painting supplies would be right inside where it’s nice and cozy!

Design name: South Pasture - This E- packet is a Global blending application combined.
This landscape painting is created with wet in wet blending techniques. Depth is created through the use of color and shadow. If you have never painted a landscape, this simple composition will get you started. In this little painting I wanted to study the effects of a controlled light source. The morning light affects the edges of the tree-tops, the grassy pastures and the 'rutted' dirt road. The dappled shadows follow the curvature of the road and helps to create balance within the simple composition. All eyes follow the lead of the well worn country road into the distance to meet the dawn of a new day.
