The Power of Observation. Learn ways to observe and record important details. Look for contrasts, differences and similarities. Students learn how to 'see' and evaluate details as well as describe the information taken from visual reference materials and streaming video. This course covers several topics and deals with light, mood, texture, form, details and color. Open to all skill levels. Use this course as a stepping stone to your artistic awareness. This course will change the way you look at the world around you.

• Learn what to observe from the perspective of an artist.

• Utilize language to describe and record information in a journal.

• Learn how to see, evaluate and translate reference materials.

• Learn to ‘read’ contrasts, i.e. - differences and similarities around us.

• Learn to describe and analyze.

• Communicate and interpret the surface information from reference materials as it relates to light, mood, shape, form, color surface texture, details.

• Synthesize collected information to form new visual images.
